# How to find (my) church with the Finder?

**You**...

... need the **contact details** of your pastor? Are you looking for the **URL of your ChurchTool**? Here you can search for your own church. For example, you can quickly find contact details or the login to your ChurchTools.

... have moved and are looking for a **new church** where you can feel at home? Search in the Finder for a church in your new town that is close to you and suits you.

... would like to celebrate worship with other Christians while **on vacation** and are looking for a local church?

**Hinweis**

In the ChurchTools Finder you will find many church congregations, especially from German-speaking countries. These churches present themselves via a self-administered ChurchTools system under their own responsibility.
Some churches have been added to the Finder by our team, using only publicly available information. You can easily spot these profiles because they don’t include a login button for connecting to a ChurchTools system.

### 1. Open the Finder

Open the Finder at [https://find.church.tools](https://find.church.tools). Adjust your language on the upper right.

If you would like to search for a church on your mobile device, we recommend installing the ChurchTools app via the [Play Store](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tools.church.app&pcampaignid=web_share) or the [App Store](https://apps.apple.com/de/app/churchtools/id1413263051). If you are already using the app and are logged in to your church, you will find the finder in the *Discover tab* under *Churches*.

In addition to the search field, you will also find suggestions and frequently searched pages on the web.
If you have already looked at churches in the Finder, they will also be displayed here.

### 2. Search

Location search or free text search: You can either search for your current location or the location where you want to find a church, or you can start a free text search.

**Tip**

How you can share your current location is explained on our Academy page [How do I share my location with ChurchTools?](https://staging.churchtools.academy/en/help/website-and-finder/find-a-church-finder/how-do-i-share-my-location-with-churchtools/)

### 3. Narrow down the search

After the first entry in the search field, you can narrow down your search even further:

- Search for a **place**,
- a **denomination**,
- **affiliation**, e.g. to a congregation, an association or a regional church,
- various **tags** (see note) and
- regular **church services**.

**Note**

The churches that are listed in the Finder select three keywords that apply to them in particular. You can filter by these tags here.
