# Who can see a post?

When creating a new post, the author of the post decides whether the Post should **only** be visible **to group members** or whether the post should **follow** the visibility **of the group**.

In the first case, only active group members can see the post. In the second case, the visibility of the post depends on whether the group itself is *public*, *internal*, *restricted* or *hidden*.

- *Public* - Anyone can see the Post, even without a ChurchTools user account.
- *Internal* - All persons with a user account in your ChurchTools can see the Post.
- *Restricted* - Only authorized persons can see the Post.
- *Hidden* - Only people who can see the hidden group can also see the Post.

Group members who can see that they are part of a group will always see all of the group's posts.
