# How to customize the group homepage of my parent group?

People in your congregation and those outside it should be able to find your group and consider whether they would like to join. As the leader of a parent group, you can customize a group homepage for the subgroups in ChurchTools. You can then embed this directly on your own church website so that visitors to your website can find it and contact the leaders. Of course, you can also simply share it by passing on a link, e.g. in the newsletter. Here you can find out how to customize the group homepage for your groups.

**Note**

It is necessary for each leader of your subgroups to customize the display of their group's public page via their group's settings, as the tile on your group homepage points to this public page. We explain how to do this [here](https://staging.churchtools.academy/en/help/churchtools-modules/settings-groups/how-do-i-customize-the-public-group-page-of-my-subgroup/).

Of course, you also have the option of making subgroups visible to the public without the group homepage of a parent group, i.e. individually. To do this, each leader directly uses the *public page* of their group, which can also be embedded on your church website or whose link can be shared.

**Tip**

Currently, you can only display the leaders of a subgroup via a group homepage. If you also want to display them on a separately published group page, proceed as follows:
- Open the subgroup in the group homepage.
- Copy the URL of the group from the browser bar and not the link generated by ChurchTools.
- Paste this URL as a link or QR code on your website.

## 1. Call up group

In the module ***Groups***, find your super group and call it up.

## 2. create a group homepage

In the menu on the left-hand side, click on *General* (2) under *Settings* (1).
Here you can *create the group homepage* in the *Public image* section (3).

**Note**

If your group homepage has already been created, you can open the configuration page of the group homepage directly here instead.

### (2) Adjust settings

- Under *Included group levels*, you define how many levels of subgroups should be taken into account for displaying the groups.
- Under *Displayed information*, you specify which subgroup data should be displayed on the overview page. All information is displayed in the detailed view.
- Under *View*, you can specify whether your group homepage should be displayed in large or small tiles or as a list by default. You can also show or hide the filter, the search bar and the map.
- Under *Filter functions*, you can set which filters are displayed in which order. Use the buttons at the end of the filter line to drag the filters into the desired order. To add or remove filters, activate/deactivate the corresponding information under *Displayed information*.
