# How to create an appointment with a sign up group?

## 1. Create new appointment

Navigate to the calendar module and either click on a *day of the week* (A) for which you want to create the new appointment or on the green *+ symbol* (B). We show you all the details in the instructions [How to create an appointment?](https://staging.churchtools.academy/en/help/churchtools-modules/adding-appointments/how-to-create-an-appointment/)

## 2. Fill in appointment information

Enter all the required information for your new appointment and select the calendar in which the appointment should be created. You can find more information on this in the article [How to edit a (series) appointment?](https://staging.churchtools.academy/en/help/churchtools-modules/adding-appointments/how-to-edit-a-series-appointment/)

## 3. Create sign up group

Switch to the tab ***Registration tab*** (1) and activate the ***slider*** (2) to create a sign up group.
Fill in the additional information and ***save*** (3) your appointment.

**Tip**

It is best to create a group in advance that you configure according to your requirements and use this as a template.

If you already add members to this group, they will be added to all sign up groups that you create using your template group. It is therefore advisable to make all relevant settings in the template group, but not to add any members.
