# What is a Super Admin?

The Super Admin is a concept in ChurchTools that is used to designate certain user accounts that should have full access to ChurchTools. Any user in an installation can be made a Super Admin.

## What can the Super Admin do?

A Super Admin automatically gets almost all global permissions.

**Note**

Exceptions to this are church and group calendars, which must be explicitly given to the Super Admin via *Manage Permissions*.

The super admin is the user of the installation who can access the privacy settings in the system settings (formerly admin settings).

## Who is the Super Admin?

In a newly requested ChurchTools installation, the person with user ID #1 is automatically entered as the Super Admin.

In *Manage Permissions* you can recognise a user entered as Super Admin by the red "Admin" chip.
