# Overview of languages and translations

Do you also have a great variety of different cultures, nations and languages in your church? Would you prefer to have your ChurchTools in Portuguese or Finnish? Would you like to change some terms in your Church Tools because your campus is called Location? Then you've come to the right place.

## How to change the language of my ChurchTool?

If you would like to change the language of your ChurchTool, please see our help page [How to change the language of my ChurchTool?](https://staging.churchtools.academy/en/help/administration/languages/how-to-customize-translations-in-churchtools/) There we explain exactly how you can use ChurchTools in English or Portuguese, for example.

If you cannot find the language you are looking for there, you can also create and maintain it yourself. You can find more information on this in the following section.

****Translators wanted!****

Do you enjoy languages and translating? Are you fluent in a foreign language and would you like to help integrate people from that language group into our churches? We are always happy to have companions who help out and maintain our translations. Just drop us a line at [https://contact.church.tools](https://contact.church.tools) and get involved!

## Where do I manage languages and translations?

Your ChurchTools has its own area in which the current **languages**and**translations** are maintained. Here you can easily add more languages and create your own translations. There is a separate tab for *languages* and *translations* in the *Translations* section.

**Note**

It is important to distinguish between ***translations*** and ***languages***.

**Translations** are used to translate the technical terms that ChurchTools uses into words that we humans can understand. A translation can be stored for each text and each button. This is already the case for the languages we provide, such as German, English, etc. You can find more information on the help page [How to customize translations in ChurchTools?](https://staging.churchtools.academy/en/help/administration/languages/how-to-customize-translations-in-churchtools)

By **languages**, we mean a language that has been added to your system via import or that you create yourself. It is basically a plan of translations for languages such as English, French and similar. We explain this in more detail on the help page [How to add new languages to ChurchTools?](https://staging.churchtools.academy/en/help/administration/languages/how-do-i-add-new-languages-to-churchtools/)

You can find the *Translations* section via the *Manage menu* with the tool icon (1) at the top right of the menu bar. Select the *Translations* option in the menu (2).
